Your privacy rights under California law, and how coley protects them.
California law defines these terms more broadly than you might expect:
coley does not sell your personal information. coley does not share your personal information for targeted advertising. There is no opt-out mechanism because there is nothing to opt out of.
Even though coley does not sell or share your personal information, California law gives you additional privacy rights. Here is what you are entitled to:
You can ask us what personal information we have collected about you, where we collected it from, why we collected it, and who we have disclosed it to.
You can ask us to delete the personal information we have collected from you. We will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.
If personal information we have about you is inaccurate, you can ask us to correct it.
You have the right to tell a company to stop selling or sharing your personal information. Because coley does not sell or share your personal information, this right does not apply here. We include it so you know the right exists.
You can ask us to limit how we use sensitive personal information (such as health and wellbeing information, emotional message data, crisis detection data, or voice data) to only what is necessary to provide our service to you.
coley will never charge you a different price, provide a different level of service, or deny you service because you exercised any of your privacy rights.
Send an email to privacy@getcoley.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line.
In your email, please describe which right you would like to exercise. You do not need to use legal language. Just tell us what you need in your own words.
If you want to exercise the right to limit use of sensitive personal information specifically, please use the separate request process described in the "Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information" section below.
We will respond to your verified request within 45 days. If we need more time, we will let you know and explain why. California law allows up to an additional 45 days in certain circumstances, but we will do our best to respond sooner.
Before we can process your request, we may need to verify that you are who you say you are. This protects you from someone else making requests about your information.
We may ask you to confirm your email address, provide identifying information that matches what we have on file, or take other reasonable steps to confirm your identity. We will never ask for your password, Social Security number, or financial account information as part of verification.
In addition to the right to opt out of sale or sharing, the CPRA gives you the right to limit how a business uses your sensitive personal information. coley collects the following categories of sensitive personal information:
You have the right to direct coley to use this sensitive personal information only for the purpose of providing the service you have requested.
How to exercise this right: Send an email to privacy@getcoley.com with "Limit Use of Sensitive PI" in the subject line. We will respond to your verified request within 45 days.
